In general tourmalines are known for their wide range of colors. They are one of the few gemstones that can be found in every color of the rainbow. Some of the most common colors include:

Pink and Red (aka rubellites), Green ranging from pale mint to deep forest green, light to deep Blue (aka indicolite), Black - the most common color of tourmaline, caused by high iron content, colorless, multi-colored (e.g. watermelon tourmaline which is green on the outside and pink on the inside and finally Paraiba Tourmaline which is a rare and expensive variety known for its neon blue or green color.
